The Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL), Asia’s first regional network of civil society organizations, is announcing a vacancy for the position of executive director. ANFREL is tasked with promoting and supporting democratization at national and regional levels in Asia. Since it was founded, it has served towards strengthening the democratization of countries such as Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, East Timor and Indonesia.


Position:  Executive Director




  • A strong command of the English language
  • A background in Political Science and Democracy
  • Experience with elections
  • Outstanding administration and project management abilities
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Natural leadership qualities and a friendly personality
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience in a leadership position


Special Requirements:


  • Willingness to relocate to work in our Bangkok office
  • Flexibility to frequently travel overseas and work in politically sensitive environments
  • A strong work ethic in the office and the field
